Piercing Aftercare

Ear Piercings

Lobes:

Please use only non-iodate course Sea Salt with boiled kettle water (distilled water) that you cool down. Please ensure you make a fresh cleaning solution for each cleaning session.

Please ensure you always use paper towel or tissue to dry. Never your bath or face towel.

Please purchase Voltaren muscle ointment as an anti-inflammatory measure. Do NOT apply at the entry or exit of fresh piercing. Rather a bit a way. Like for a Septum on the tip of the nose, or for a Tragus you would put it on the Forward Helix area, for Nostril also on tip of Nose.

Anit-Bacterial cream Fucidin. Must be the red and white box. Apply this to the bar/ring and work into the newly pierced tunnel in your skin after the salt cleaning session. Please keep doing this for the entirety of the healing process. This will curb infection and promote speedy healing.

Also please take anti-inflammation tablets, such as Ibuprofen. Nurofen, Genpayne, Mybulin. If you need to buy, then ask the pharmacist for Inza or another pure Ibuprofen tablet with nothing else added. Keep taking them for the first 3-5 days.

Cartilage:

Use non-iodinated course Sea Salt or Himalayan Pink Salt with boiled kettle water that you cool down. 2 Pinches of Himalayan Pink salt with a shot glass of kettle water (Boiled kettle water is Distilled water).

Please ensure you make a fresh cleaning solution for each cleaning session. Ensure you always use paper towels to dry with. Never use your bath or face towel as it carries bacteria regardless of whether it is clean or not.

Please take anti-inflammation tablets for 7 days 3x per day, such as Ibuprofen, Nurofen, Genpayne, Mybulen or Inza.

Use Voltaren Emulgel topically around the new piercing (ensuring you do not get it into the new piercing tunnel into the body) to assist you with swelling and inflammation.

At any point and time of your healing do not force your jewellery to move inside the new pierced tunnel.

During the saline cleaning the jewellery will start moving by itself. If you had to force the jewellery to move, you would cause secondary tears inside that new pierced tunnel and take longer to heal and you would have a greater chance of infection.

Fucidin broad-spectrum antibiotic ointment (white and orange box) or cream (white and Red box) are equally good. Please apply this to the bar/ring and work into the newly pierced tunnel in your skin after the salt cleaning session. Ensure you wipe all excess away. This will curb infection and promote speedy healing.

Face Body & Nipples Piercings

Use non-iodinated course Sea Salt or Himalayan Pink Salt with boiled kettle water that you cool down. 3 Pinches of Himalayan Pink salt with a shot glass of kettle water (Boiled kettle water is Distilled water).

Please take anti-inflammation tablets for the 3 days 3x per day, such as Ibuprofen, Nurofen, Genpayne, Mybulen or Inza.

Use Voltaren Emulgel topically around the new piercing (ensuring you do not get it into the new piercing tunnel into the body) to assist you with swelling and inflammation it works particularly well with nipple piercings.

Oral Piercings

Use only non-iodinated course Sea Salt or Himalayan Pink salt with boiled kettle water that you cool down.

To make your own saline solution:

Fill a 500ml bottle with 4 teaspoons of Himalayan Pink Salt and cooled-down kettle water (this is distilled water) and keep it with you the whole time.

Rinse after you put anything into your mouth such as food, drinks, brushing your teeth, mouthwash, cigarettes, and kissing. Rinse regardless for every 1 – 2 hours, even if nothing was in your mouth.

Please take anti-inflammation tablets for the first 3 days 3x per day to keep the swelling down, such as Ibuprofen, Nurofen, Genpayne, Mybulen or Inza. We will need to change the bar to a shorter one as soon as the one fitted now feels too long and is sticking out far above the tongue.

It is advised to get a new toothbrush. Also, remember that mouthwash contains alcohol which will delay the healing. Therefore, it is advised that you rinse with saline solution after mouthwash.

Micro-Dermal Surface Anchor Implants

Keep a newly fitted plaster over your newly fitted Micro-Dermal Surface Anchor Implants for 10 days. This is to ensure that the jewellery sits STILL in its newly fitted place, allowing the tissue to grow through the anchor.

Any movement, bumps, or hooks will move the anchor out of the placement where your piercer placed it and it might change the angle at which the Micro-Dermal Surface Anchor sits.

Genital Piercings

Male:

Make your own saline solution with Boiled kettle water in a 250ml cup with two teaspoons of Himalayan Pink Salt. Soak if possible else clean very well while moving the jewellery with the saline solution 2 times a day.

For cleaning 3 times a day the saline solution needs to be 250ml and 1 teaspoon of Himalayan Pink Salt.

Please ensure you clean very well with saline solution underneath the foreskin if possible

For your newly pierced Prince Albert Piercing please ensure that you drink a lot of clean water as every time you urinate you are rinsing the pierced tunnel. In the case of other male genital piercings still follows the exact cleaning method.

If you have any problems that you might experience be sure to contact your piercer immediately.

Female

Please make your own Saline Solution with Himalayan Pink Salt and cooled down kettle water. 3 Pinches of salt to a shot glass of water.

Do morning and night time cleaning with saline solution for 4 days.

DO NOT use soaps or perfumes for at least 3 weeks after piercing. And no mouth for 3 full weeks on the piercing.
